Every month Self Build & Design share case studies from real self builders at the top of their game to provide its readers with inspiration and guidance.
The 9-page article chronicles the transformation we carried out for our clients, June and David Roddis, who converted a former garage/studio into a stylish two-bedroom house.
From the original concept, through the architectural planning and and onto the construction phase, the article highlights the key design drivers and decisions made.
A cost analysis of building components is provided at the end of the article, along with June’s tips for ensuring a project runs on programme and budget.The house was runner up in the 2015 Yorkshire and Humber Local Authority Building Control awards in the best individual new home category, and is a prime example of how to make a small home into a real show-stopper.
