A stunning contemporary extension with cedar cladding | Carter Knowle Road, Sheffield
We worked with award winning architects CODA Studios, to create a contemporary kitchen extension at the clients traditional Victorian style home located in the S7 area.
The aim of the design was to expand the existing kitchen and allow space for a downstairs toilet. We were asked to consider natural lighting and provide access to the rear garden. Several north facing Velux skylights were fitted along with bi-fold glazed doors for the garden access.
Our main priority was to provide a space where the clients could enjoy their kitchen space but also enjoy the view of their own garden, therefore a large seated corner window was incorporated into the design.
We chose to give the extension a Scandinavian feel using cedar cladding, with hidden fixtures to create a simplistic but contemporary feel assisted by the asymmetric roofline to compliment the pitched roofs within the surrounding area.
