An impressive new build in a desirable location | Ashfurlong, Dore
For the clients of Ashfurlong, a new build property provided the most cost-effective way to achieve the home of their dreams.
As the original house on their plot at Dore had been extended several times previously, a large proportion of the existing structure needed to be removed to make the property strong enough to take the new extension. This wasn’t the most cost-effective or practical route and as the frontage wasn’t 100% to the clients liking, the decision was taken to demolish the existing property. This allowed the clients to utilise the full plot width and dig a basement.
The architects, G9 Design, thoughtfully designed the new house to offer spacious family accommodation. The property blends traditional building materials, such as reclaimed weathered brick and timber windows, with contemporary energy efficient features. Brick detailing and corbeling combined with stone features, also add points of interest and charm.
